NEW HOOD TECHNOLOGY FOR AHLSTROM MUNKSJÖ ARCHES
Bellmer has rebuilt the after-dryer section of PM 26 at AHLSTROM MUNKSJÖ (Arches - France) to optimize the energy efficiency of the plant.
The installation of a new hood covering four different areas of the after-dryer section has been completed. The goal of the project was to ensure full accessibility to production while ensuring maximum sealing of relevant areas and optimizing energy consumption. The following equipment has been supplied;
New closed hood with panels manufactured with Thermal Bridge Break. This system allows the elimination of heat loss from the hood through the panels.
Automatic opening of the hood roof on the Twin Sizer, by means of pneumatic cylinders to facilitate access for maintenance.
Basement closure, to complete the thermal insulation of the drying section.
Energy recovery in the extraction system with the installation of a fumes-air heat-exchanger.
Pocket ventilation boxes in areas with higher humidity.
Fire prevention network: wet fire extinguishing system with sprinklers located longitudinally in the upper part of the hood interior, including a control system with alarm valves, delay valves and shut-off valves.
Aerothermic Installation Control System – dew point control to minimize the flow of extracted fumes, through automatic control of the extraction system’s water content. Spare parts inventory for two years of operation.
Thanks to the close and positive cooperation between all involved, the project was completed to the full satisfaction of Ahlstrom Munksjö.
The new hood is designed for optimum energy consumption
